How can i get my moms approval to date?

i am 16 years old and im the oldest and my mom is single mom. she doesn't allow me to date this boy because she believes he is a bad person. but the thing is she doesn't truly know him many people tell her rumors about him that are not even true! i understand that she is just trying to protect me and save me from getting hurt but she just closed minded! I try to be good for her i never sneak out or rebel i always try to calmy speak with her but she begins to cry and tell me that her health issues are all my fault and makes me feel that i am a bad daughter because im in love. he once came to my house to speak with her and we are trying to do this the right way to get her approval but she only sees her own perspective not mine. how can i get my moms approval for me to date him?
